SystemSpecs MD bags CIBN award, urges tech adoption

Managing Director of SystemSpecs, John Obaro has urged actors in public financial management to embrace technology for efficient performance.

He stated this at the 2021 Fellowship Investiture programme of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, CIBN, held in Lagos recently

Obaro who was among the fellowship awardees, called for more usage of technology to effectively manage the country debt and increase its revenue base.

Other awardees at the event included Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Managing Director of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mr Hassan Bello; Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor, Dr Kingsley Obiora and six bank chiefs.

SystemSpecs has been prominent for its exploits in Nigeria’s e-payment system landscape, with Remita among its iconic fintech solutions.

Other prominent products of the firm included: Human Capital Management solution, HumanManager and eCommerce platform, Paylink.

In his address, President of CIBN, Dr Bayo Olugbemi, urged stakeholders not to relent in supporting government’s initiatives targeting inclusive growth and development.

Speaking on the theme “Nigeria’s Rising Debt Profile: Issues and Implications for Sustainable Economic Development”, Olugbemi urged government to do all to minimize excessive borrowing.

A total of 237 individuals were conferred with awards- 14 Honorary Fellows, 77 Elected Fellows and 146 Honorary Senior Members.
