Bamidele notifies Senate on gov bid, lists qualifications

Opeyemi-BamideleTHE  Chairman of Southern Senators Forum, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has notified the senators elected on the platform of All Progressive Congress about his intention to contest the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State.

The Senator, in a letter to the APC senators dated December 5, 2021 said he has what it takes to lead Ekiti State, having served in the legislative, executive and judiciary arms of government in the country.

Bamidele, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, sought the support of his colleagues and pledged to move Ekiti State forward as governor.

The Senator said, “I have what it takes to lead Ekiti State in such a peculiar time like this, following my over 35 years in various leadership positions and brilliant  exposure in the three arms of government.

“ I have served my country within the judicial, executive and the legislative arms of government.

“I am  a lawyer, a three term cabinet member of the Lagos State government operating in the executive and as an elected member of the House of Representatives and distinguished Senator.

“By the grace of God, I will be a round peg in a round hole  if given an opportunity to serve  as governor and the Ekiti people will be better for it.”
