Oyo police confirms killing of ex-Iyalode’s daughter

Oyo State Police command has confirmed the killing of Alhaja Fatimah Awolesu, the only surviving daughter of the immediate past Iyalode of Ibadan land, Alhaja Aminat Abiodun.

DAILY POST had yesterday reported her death.

She was killed by some yet to be identified gunmen in her residence, at the Bashorun area of Ibadan.

The State Police command has now confirmed her death.

The command in a reaction sent to DAILY POST by Adewale Osifeso, its Police Public Relations Officer, said that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue.

He said, “The unfortunate demise of Alhaja Fatima Awolesu ‘f’ was reported by a family associate to the Police on Wednesday 09/03/2022.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was attacked at her Bashorun residence by unknown assailants who also inflicted bodily wounds on her.

“Crime Scene Investigators have been immediately deployed to Crime Scene for detailed forensic processes and thorough investigations.

“Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the State Morgue.

“Updates regarding the incident and investigations would be made available in due course, please.”
