Fast rising politician and hitherto All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency in Abia state, Dr Onyinye Kay Rufus-OBI was yesterday overwhelmingly affirmed as the APGA candidate representing the area by party delegates.

With this affirmation, Dr Onyinye has been given the party mandate to represent the APGA against other contending parties like APC and PDP in the 2023 elections.

Those she’s squaring up against include the incumbent candidate at the federal house of representatives, Dr Nkeiru Onyejeocha, who many believe has overstayed at the house and few candi dates from other political parties.

Recent opinion sampling gives Dr Onyinye very high chance of winning the elections, not just because she is an innovator and ideas workshop but also because she is from Isuikwuato.

Many believes Isuikwuato should be given the chance this time since Umunneochi has done 16years stretch through Dr Onyejeocha.

Speaking at the Isuikwuato party office where she was given the mandate, Dr Onyinye told the people that she will not disappoint them.

She assured the constituents that this is a new dawn, and Isuikwuato/Umunneochi is about to witness a new wave of transformation if elected to go the House of Reps next year.

“ You will be very happy you voted me,” she noted.

Among those on hand to witness the event were INEC officials, the DSS, the Police and other intelligence and paramilitary agencies.
