Gunmen kill security man, set filling station ablaze in Ondo

Tension heightened on Monday in Igoba community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State following the killing of a security guard identified as ‘Mr Sunday’ by gunmen.

The unidentified attackers who also set the station ablaze shot and killed the security guard who was manning the Titolu Venture filling station in the community.

The manager of the station, Ajisafe Oluwatobiloba, said while attempting to determine what started the fire, they came upon the body of the security guard.

“I was called by one of the residents, and when we arrived, we noticed the station blazing.

“We called the fire department, and they came to put out the fire without realizing the culprits had slain our security guard,” he claimed.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, PPRO, SP Funmi Odunlami who confirmed the incident said investigations had begun to unravel the circumstances behind the incident.
