Alleged assault of passenger FAAN explains true position

 Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has said that the report obtained by People’s Gazette of an incident of an alleged assault of a female passenger at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,Abuja recently, is not true.

A statement signed by Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze (Mrs),   Ag General Manager, Corporate Affairs, noted that although there was a misunderstanding between the passenger and AVSEC officials bothering on compliance with airport security protocols which have been resolved upon investigation, she was not physically assaulted at any time, adding, “Her tweet of rebuttal on 19th January 2023 is an attestation.”

According to the statement, the passenger went down due to a prior health condition and was attended to promptly by FAAN medical team, as well as escorted till she left the airport on her own terms.

“We are glad to hear further that the passenger is well and good. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria will continue to deliver quality services to her esteemed customers, within the confines of standard facilitation practices,” the statement added.
