Maiwada appointed Nigeria Customs PRO, Bomodi heads Kirikiri command

Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) has approved the appointment of CSC Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada as Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

He takes over from Comptroller Timi Bomodi, the new Customs Area Controller at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Area Command.

Maiwada obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education/Geography and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Bayero University, Kano.

The new spokesperson also holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Crescent University, Abeokuta.

Maiwada joined the NCS as Cadet ASC in 2011. He was Zonal PRO Zone ‘B’ Headquarters Kaduna, and later PRO Ogun Command (now Ogun I & II Area Commands).

He was deployed to headquarters in 2020 as pioneer Liaison Officer of the Customs Broadcasting Network. He deputized Bomodi from January 2022 to February 2023.

Maiwada is a member of the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).

The recipient of the 2020 World Customs Organisation (WCO) Award has attended courses on Leadership, Customs Operations, Trade Facilitation, Public Relations and Strategic Communication.
