Sanwo-OluThe Office of Civic Engagement, Lagos State Government, has organised a one-day sensitisation programme for special advisers, commissioners and permanent secretaries of various ministries, agencies and departments across the state.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Aderemi Adebowale, at an event held recently at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.

According to a statement issued by the state government, Adebowale said in order to have an all-inclusive government in the state, “a conscious effort was being made to establish, deepen and sustain the government mode of engagement and communication with various stakeholders, hence the need for a more interactive Lagos State Citizens Gate 2.0 App.”

She said the implementation of the Citizens’ Gate 2.0 platform in all MDAs in the state was a crucial step towards promoting transparency, accountability and citizen engagement in government.

“The platform is built to ensure easy monitoring of all activities as they unfold on the platform, you can further investigate tickets generated which were not effectively and efficiently addressed within the shortest time, while tracking and enforcing government performance,” she added.

She added that the state had blazed the trail in bringing governance to the people via mobile phones and the Internet through the deployment of the Citizen’s Gate 2.0 platform, a web and app-based e-governance channel that enables access to and delivery of public goods.
