NNPP insists ex-Ogun chair remains expelled

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has declared that the former chairman of the party in Ogun State, Mr Olaposi Sunday Oginni, cannot speak on behalf of the party again.

The party noted that it expelled Oginni due to issues bordering on anti-party activities, among others.

The party has called on members of the public to beware of the activities of the former chairman, noting that it is unfortunate that the former chairman still parades himself as the Ogun State chairman and chairman of the state chairmen of the party.

Ogun NNPP public relations officer, Omokehinde Olowu, in a statement made available, insisted that the former chairman remained expelled from the party.

He added that the former chairman had been expelled by the national leadership of the party and that his expulsion was given the required public awareness.

Olowu said: “He felt dissatisfied with his expulsion and challenged the decision of the party in court and lost woefully. We want to reiterate categorically that Oginni Olaposi Sunday has ceased to be a member of NNPP, and, by extension, of the Ogun State Chapter.

“He cannot in any way stand, speak, or do anything in his former capacity as the Ogun State Chairman or speak on behalf of the party in Ogun State. The general public as well as the security agencies should please take note.

“We want the public not to have any transactions with him on behalf of our great party, the NNPP. Whoever transacts any business with him is on his or her own. The national headquarters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) will not take responsibility for such transactions.”
