One of the skills that is working for Governor Alex Otti is that he is engaging with the people daily. If he is not updating the press, he is using his social media handles to let the people know what he is doing at the time.

Part of this procedure is to brief the people on his itinerary and also get people’s reactions to his performance. This is the first time any governor has done this.
Analysts think that this quality is unique when you juxtapose it with the attitude of some government officials who see themselves as superiors to the people and would rather talk down on them, lie, and even bamboozle innocent citizens in the name of playing politics.
A few things will catch your fancy when you peruse Otti’s social media interactions. One common thread is that he is popularly accepted across the spectrum and the people place implicit confidence in his ability to deliver. Others specifically asked him not to blow the trust they placed in him.
Going through X recently, a man with the handle, “Ayuba of Ikotun,” (Ikotun is a suburb in Lagos State), who was wowed by Governor Otti’s performance in the last six months said, “Anyone in Abia that can help me with settling there, I’m moving from Lagos state.”
Nwabunwanne Odiari in his reaction said of Governor Otti, “Small body, Big engine, Alex Otti never stops. Imagine his work rate and that of Peter Obi if they handle Nigeria.”
A man with the handle, Newshub said, “Keep up with the good works you are doing HE @alexottiofr. God is with you. Do not be shaken by distractors and let your actions be driven by passion sir.”
Another with the handle Admiral described Governor Otti thus, “Best working Governor.”
Lam Eri’Oluwa said, “You’re a gallant governor, and I’m excited to see what great things you’ll accomplish this year. I’m confident that you’ll do great things.”
However one of the engagements that stirred the hornet’s nest was when the Chief of Army staff paid the Governor a courtesy visit. Chuksmany said, “Sir, too many roadblocks in the state and extortion of motorists by some security uniform men in the name checking point.”
MC Ugwummadu wrote, “Hope you took him up on the kidnapping spree in Abia state and environs, which has been rumored to have their blessings?
A woman immediately attacked Ugwummadu and said, “Which kidnapping spree again?
Obi Emeka Israel told the Governor, “Congratulations the people’s governor. Your work rate is appreciated. Ensure you get security sorted out and Abia will fully become the destination for FDI. Abia and Abians win. Thank you for all you have done and the ones you will still do.”
Kelvin C Ogudu wrote, “HE Alex Otti Sir, I hope you pointed to him to do something about the too many army checking points in the East which is causing a lot of traffic gridlock on our highway?
One funny one was the one by John Nweze, who said, “Alex my brother, just remember to have your long spoon at that dinner.”
