100% Compliance Team of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has alerted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Plant Quarantine Service (PQS) over incessant stealing of items from the examination bays in the name of sampling.
A letter to the organizations signed by the coordinator of the compliance team, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, noted that importers and clearing agents have been losing numerous items running into millions of Naira because of this error in etiquette.
The letter warned that NAGAFF members can no longer cope with the tag of thieves and the mould of shameful generalization of people without integrity with which their clients (importers) cast them because of missing items in their boxes.
While statutorily, NAFDAC and SON are supposed to collect samples, and with signed sampling forms, the NAGAFF compliance team warned that it would from now on resist illegal sampling practices from any organization, and would also report such culprits to the Port police.
