Biden Presidency will favour Ndigbo — Group

The administration of incoming United States President Joe Biden will favour Ndigbo of South-East and South-South Nigeria, the Anambra World Forum has said.

Reacting to the victory of Biden, the Democratic Party candidate in the contentious November 3, 2020 election, the group said in an online message to members on Saturday, November 7, that the Biden Presidency, expected to start on January 20, 2021, will give Ndigbo access to the White House, the American seat of power.

Reason: The Vice President-elect, Senator Kamara Harris, is an in-law to Ndigbo, her niece, Meena Harris, being married to Nikola Ajagu, a Nigerian-American from Anambra State in South-East Nigeria.

“The Vice President is our in law and that gives Ndigbo access,” Anambra World Forum said.

It added: “So today, we celebrate with the President elect, Mr. Joe Biden and the Vice President-elect, Sen. Kamara Harris on being declared the winners of the long awaited US election result.

“CONGRATULATIONS BIDEN, CONGRATULATIONS NDIGBO.”

News Express report that former Vice President Biden beat incumbent President Donald Trump in both Electoral College and popular votes. Trump, however, has refused to concede, making unsubstantiated claims of electoral fraud, some of which have already been thrown out by the courts. News Express
