Police Commissioner Promises Tight Security in Benue

New Benue State Police Command Commissioner, Tunji Akingbola, has stressed that the command will not rest on its oars in leaving behind a solid security infrastructural base in the State.

CP Akingbola, who said this during his maiden briefing with newsmen yesterday, stated that the Police will emplace a combination of Kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to deter people from crime and criminalities.

He decried the security challenges prevailing in the state including, farmers/herders conflict, vandalism of critical infrastructure(rail slippers), local armed militia gangs, armed robbery, kidnapping, scourge of cultism, violent communal clashes, illicit consumption and trafficking of drugs, trafficking of arms and light weapons and unhealthy political activities.

The CP intimated that he will embark on constructive engagement and community partnerships, public campaigns and advocacy, intelligence led policing, recovery of illegal firearms a d light weapons as well as her tolerance for corruption and respect for human rights.

While reeling out his achievements, Akingbola said 15 suspects were arrested with 255 railway slippers, arrest of 20 robbery suspects, arrest of 20 cultists, arrested suspected bandits, arrest and death of kidnappers and rescued of several kidnapped persons.
