The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, constituted on Sunday, a high-powered four-man committee toward reuniting with the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Al-Hassan Doguwa, with the Kwankwasiyya movement.

Confirming the development, the former Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Rurum, of the Rano, Bunkure, and Kibiya Federal Constituency, said the committee headed by Sen. Rufa’i Hanga with his humble self (Rt. Hon. Kabiru Rurum), the state chairman of our party, Hon. Umar Doguwa, and Hon. Sarki Daneji as members would also pay a condolence visit to Doguwa over the death of his father in September 2018.

According to him, the condolence visit is part of efforts to reunite Al-Hassan Ado Doguwa with Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Rurum, who defected to the NNPP in May 2022 during the political party’s primary, said politics is a game of numbers, adding that we are open for reconciliation and reunion with our old friends and associates in our quest to achieve a new Nigeria.

“At some point, most of us were in different parties against His Excellency, Engr. Dr. Rabi’u Kwankwaso, but after realising his political sagacity, we reunited with him in the NNPP, and I can confirm to you that we are much more comfortable now than ever before.”

“I am therefore assuring the House leader of a warm reception back to the Kwankwasiyya political movement and the NNPP, as he was once a member of its kitchen cabinet.”

Also, Rurum confirmed that they would pay the condolence visit on behalf of the NNPP Presidential Candidate, H.E. Rabiu Kwankwaso, as soon as possible in fulfillment of the conditions of our brother Hon. Al-hassan Ado Doguwa and ensure that the big fish is in our net soon.”
