Nigeria Annual Automotive Industry Award to hold November 27

Organisers of the Nigeria Annual Automotive Industry Awards has said that the 2023 edition which is the second in the series will hold on November 27 at Sheraton Hotels Ikeja, Lagos with the theme: ‘Celebrating the best & brightest of the Nigeria Automotive Industry.’

President of Automobiles And Road Safety Initiative, Mr. Samuel Oloyede Oriowo told the media on Monday that the award is established to recognize enterprise, encourage creativity and to reward excellence among key players in the motoring industry in Nigeria.

“Indeed, the award is to induce standard work ethics and discourage production and marketing of fake automotive lubricants, parts and allied products that is seriously adversely distressing the industry and the nation’s economy,” he noted.

Mr Oriowo said it was in realization of these lofty objectives that the foundation for Nigeria Annual Automotive Industry Award was laid on Wednesday 14th December, 2022 at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos; during which; Toyota Motors, JAC Motors, CFAO Motors & its Isuzu automobile, NNPC Retails Limited as well as Mobil Oil and the then Oando Oleun Oil were honoured with various awards.

He said that for this year’s Award, the categories of the Awardees has been enlarged and several sectors of the industry considered appropriate for honour.

Automobiles And Road Safety Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) was established in year 2013 and have been in full operations ten years ago.

The Aims and Objectives of the group include: Promotion of standard work ethics among auto repair technicians; to comply with auto manufacturers specifications.

Advocacy in the area of production, importation and usage of only genuine auto spare parts, tyres and lubricants to service owners’ vehicles.

Reduction of road accidents through campaigns, seminars and workshops for stakeholders in the Nigeria Automotive Sector, amongst others.

Automobiles And Road Safety Initiative has been in the forefront of canvassing for safety on our roads. It has held programs across the country to promote this.
